Rekkko vs Vidyard

A sales platform, or a recorder that gets out of the way.

Vidyard is video built for selling. Rekkko is video built for explaining. If someone reports on your view counts, that difference matters.

Who Vidyard is for

Vidyard sits in a sales stack. Viewer tracking, calls to action inside the player, landing pages, hosting for marketing video and integrations with the CRM your team already lives in. When a video is a step in a pipeline and someone has to report on it, that plumbing is the product and it is worth paying for.

For a ninety-second answer to a colleague it is a lot of machinery, and it is a paid platform, so check their site for the current plans.

Who Rekkko is for

Rekkko does the small loop well: record your screen in a browser tab, tidy it on the timeline, send the link, see who watched and read their comments. It is free, needs no install, and the person on the other end does not sign in to anything.

You still get the basics of knowing your video landed: view counts per recording and comments from viewers. What you do not get is anything that writes back to a CRM.

What Rekkko does not have

No CRM integrations, no lead capture forms, no landing pages, no team seats and roles, no marketing video hosting. If your video is part of a revenue process that someone measures, Vidyard exists for exactly that and Rekkko is not a replacement.

If you are a designer, a developer or a founder who just needs to show something and move on, the smaller tool is the faster tool.

The honest limits

Better you read this here than find out halfway through a recording.

  • A single recording can be up to 2 GB. Long recordings at high resolution get there faster than you would think.
  • Recording works in desktop browsers only. Phones and tablets can watch, but not record.
  • You need a free account to record. The people you send the link to need nothing at all.
  • Rekkko is free today and I cover the hosting myself, so limits may change as it grows. Nothing gets deleted without telling you.

FAQ

Questions about switching

Does Rekkko integrate with a CRM?

No. There are no CRM integrations. Links paste and play anywhere, but nothing writes back to your pipeline.

Can I see who watched?

You can see views on each recording and read comments viewers leave. It is not a sales analytics suite.

Can I add a call to action to the player?

No. The player plays the recording, with comments underneath if you leave them on.

Is Rekkko free?

Yes, free to record, share and watch, with no card and no watermark. I cover the hosting while it is small.

Does the viewer need an account?

No. Anyone with the link can watch in a browser, on a phone or a laptop.

Can I edit after recording?

Yes. Trim on the timeline, split and reorder, change speed, remove silences and filler words, or delete words in the transcript to cut that part of the video.

Is Rekkko suitable for a sales team?

For quick personal videos, yes. For pipeline reporting and lead capture, no, and Vidyard is the honest recommendation.

Can I password protect a link?

Yes. Add a password, set an expiry date, or turn the link off and it stops playing for everyone.

Ready to record something?

It runs in your browser. Nothing to install, no card, and the link works for anyone you send it to.
